Phosphorus-containing Flame Retardants on Textiles: Investigation of Structure-Dependent Mechanisms in Fundamental Experiments
Within the last three years we had a successful Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) – German Research Foundation project, to obtain a deeper understand for flame retardant mechanism for textiles. In the cooperation with Burak Atakan from Universität Duisburg-Essen and the Institut für Energie- und Material-Prozesse. The PhD student @Niklas Tomasik developed a new test setup to detect pyrolyses products e.g. PO-radicals. With this approach Raphael Otto developed new flame retardant for textiles. In cooperation an understand of the mechanism was obtained, which resulted in seven publications.
With the colloquium we want to present the results to broad audience. To broaden the presentation, we invited Serge Bourbigot from Université de Lille and Sabyasachi Gaan from Empa- Mechanics of Materials & Nanostructures which pesenten reserach on flame retardandt PP and recyleable Epoxiedes.
