🇩🇪🤝🇨🇳 Strengthening international research cooperation
We were very pleased to welcome a delegation from the Yancheng Institute of Technology (YCIT), China, to DTNW for discussions on expanding scientific and academic cooperation with the Deutsches Textilforschungszentrum Nord-West (DTNW) and the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE).
The delegation was led by Prof. Ding Cheng, Vice President of YCIT, and included Prof. Chen Tianming, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering; Prof. Song Xiaobang, Dean of the School of Textile and Clothing; Assoc. Prof. Tang Hao, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering; Prof. Huan Haixiang, Vice Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering; and Lei Yaru, Section Chief of the International Exchange & Cooperation Department.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and identify promising areas for future cooperation, including joint scientific research, researcher and student exchange, and long-term academic collaboration. These activities reflect the shared ambition of YCIT, UDE and DTNW to strengthen international scientific networks and develop new collaborative research projects.
A particularly special moment during the visit was the recognition of two DTNW colleagues by Yancheng Institute of Technology: Prof. Dr. Jochen S. Gutmann, Managing Director of DTNW and Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), was appointed Distinguished Professor at YCIT, while Dr. Wael Ali was appointed Guest Professor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, YCIT.
These appointments represent not only individual distinctions, but also an important foundation for further strengthening the scientific links between YCIT, UDE and DTNW.
We sincerely thank our colleagues from Yancheng Institute of Technology for the inspiring exchange, the trust placed in our scientists, and their commitment to building a sustainable partnership.
We look forward to continuing this promising cooperation and translating the ideas discussed during the visit into new joint research activities and scientific exchange.
