Interfacial Phenomena and Processing Technologies

The research activities of the group are focused on the development of applications-relevant physical-chemical procedures of functionalization of surfaces of polymer materials, in the first line of textiles.

Current trends in textiles industry dictate development and fast commercialization of highly functional, advanced fibers and smart textiles for applications ranging from apparel, health care and consumer products to defense, filtration, and sensoric textiles. The applied research is complemented by fundomental studies related to mechanical properties of the novel and modified fiber materials, to the role of nano- and micrstructuring in providing targeted properties on a macroscale,, as well as to novel approaches to produce resposive and switchable surfaces.
